Crewel update 4: Um...awkward

Tuesday, January 29, 2013
Ok, so first of all, I have some bad news. Since I have a lot of homework and stuff to do lately, I haven't had a lot of time to post lately, and that sucks. I probably won't be able to post everyday, just like 4 to 5 times a week, maybe even less. I'm even pushing it with my parents by posting so late today, so this will be a quick update.

Crewel is getting really good! I'm getting to like it, especially now that there are more characters like the Creweler Loricel who essentially creates the setting, Arras. The only thing bothering me about this book, (other then the confusingness which still lingers), is the weirdness between Cormac Patton, who is the Arras ambassador and extremely powerful and handsome (thanks to renewal patches which make old people look handsome, basically) and Adelice. Cormac keeps like, making passes at Adelice, even though he's like 40, and she's in what her 18s? She denies him, but she sounds kind of weird, and she kind of likes him, (not in that way, just likes him). What????? I would stay away from a creeper like that! So yeah those parts are awkward.

OMG I freaking love Mean Girls. BEST. MOVIE. EVER (one of).

Well, that's all I have.

G'night! :)

I'm so sorry!

You read it. I am so sorry!

I'm so busy with stupid homework things today, I wasn't able to read very much, and so unless I get some miracle, I will not be able to post an update today.

I hope you won't hate me forever and ever.

Bye :(

Crewel update #3: Getting gooood!

Saturday, January 26, 2013

I'm so sorry, I know how horrible I am for skipping a day. Hopefully you will forgive me. This post comes late because I was attending a bat mitzvah which was super fun!!!!

Anyway, Crewel. So this book is actually getting good!

I know right, Sebastian?

So I mean maybe it's just the romance thing between Jost and Adelice. I'm a sucker for romance as long as it's good. So yeah! I'm tired so that's all I'll post. I'll try to finish this book super soon!

Haha isn't this awesome? I LOVE Tobuscus. Check out his youtube channel!

So as Toby says,

"Bye! Love you! Don't die!

Update 2 on Crewel: Sound familiar?

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Okay, ummm to quote the adorable puppy above,

"Huh? What?"

That basically sums up how I feel about Crewel so far. I read just a little bit more today, and now I am being reminded of The Hunger Games (which is an awesome book and I will post a review for it in the not-so-near future, perhaps after re-reading it). Some examples of it's hunger-gameness:

1. Pages 49-50. In this section of the book, Adelice describes the beauty of the women around her, and about how artificial it is. This totally reminds me of the Capitol in The Hunger Games. Also, her stylists make her "pretty," and comment on how how "gaunt" she is and overall comment on her appearance. Her stylists are also drop dead gorgeous. Cinna, Venia, Octavia and Flavius anyone?

2. Page 55. I was too busy  lazy to scan through this book to find more sections like this one, so I found the easy one since it's on the last page I was reading. Throughout these first 55 pages, ever since the "Guild" (government, I think? I told you this book was confusing me) seized Adelice and since she has no idea where her family is, (other then her father who is ****spoiler ahead!****  dead  ****end of spoiler!****). She has been talking about having to protect her little sister Amie (Surprise!). Am I the only one reminded of Katniss protecting Prim by this?

So basically, not only is this book confusing and mind-numbingly hard to follow, it is starting to lack originality. That's just great.

Until next time!

Bye! :)

1st book: Crewel by Gennifer Albin

Tuesday, January 22, 2013
Hello again!

Okay, so the book I am currently reading is:

Crewel by Gennifer Albin
Isn't that an awesome cover? Yeah I know the whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" thing, but I am willing to make an exception in this case. So anyway, here is the description of this book from

Enter a tangled world of secrets and intrigue where a girl is in charge of other’s destinies, but not her own.

Sixteen-year-old Adelice Lewys has always been special. When her parents discover her gift—the ability to weave the very fabric of reality—they train her to hide it. For good reason, they don’t want her to become a Spinster — one of the elite, beautiful, and deadly women who determine what people eat, where they live, how many children they have, and even when they die.

Thrust into the opulent Western Coventry, Adelice will be tried, tested and tempted as she navigates the deadly politics at play behind its walls.  Now caught in a web of lies and forbidden romance, she must unravel the sinister truth behind her own unspeakable power.  Her world is hanging by a thread, and Adelice, alone, can decide to save it — or destroy it.

Does that not sound cool? I'm about 1/4th of the way into this book, and it hasn't really pulled me in so far, but I'm going to keep pushing through. I am a BOOK SOLDIER! :)

Another thing really bothering me is how complicated the world is. It's all like "Threads, colors, gold, weaving, spinster, blah blah blah," and I'm all like:

But hopefully I will start understanding this book sometime soon. Until then, I wish you farewell (Well not really, I probably will post again before I'm able to understand this but whatever).

Well Hello people!

Thank you for visiting my humble little blog! You may know me as Saru from Goodreads also. However, if you don't know me then, well:

Nice to meet you! I hope this will not be the last time we see each other!

Anyway, I love reading books, and it is my biggest passion, so I figured: Why not start a book blog? So that is exactly what I did. Basically, on this blog, you will follow my reading journey. I will tell you what I'm currently reading, post updates, and when I am ultimately finished with the book, I will write a gif-filled review for you to enjoy.

Since right now I am in the middle of a book, I can't post a review, but after I post this, I will post what book it is and a status update. Stick around!
